The Tawny Ports with age indication from Quinta das Carvalhas are blends created from the estate's vast collection of old Port wines, aged in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia.
This 50 Year Old Port was crafted from a meticulous selection of rare and unique wines, aged for decades in the finest oak casks. It is a one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable blend, composed of three wines: the 1967 and 1978 Colheitas form the base, with 10% of the blend coming from the 1927 Colheita Port.
Boasting a beautiful amber colour with subtle reddish hues, typical of a very old tawny, this 50 Year Old Port reveals refined aromas of noble oak cask, varnish, cedar leaf, and nutmeg, with a noticeable citrus freshness. On the palate, it shows a firm structure, harmoniously combined with a broad spectrum of flavours of dried fruits and liquorice, culminating in a very long and persistent finish.
